Our classrooms are child centered and designed to stimulate creative experiences and sound educational philosophies. We have integrated many different Early Education philosophies in our program to ensure students receive a well rounded Early Childhood Education. Music, art, science, creative movement and outdoor play in an enclosed area are part of the daily schedule. We believe play is the most important part of a young child’s day. We believe that children learn in their play and by imitation and socialization.
2/3-Year-Old Class
Is where friendships begin to develop and children gain confidence as they use their words and thoughts to interact with others. We allow children to express themselves creatively and encourage all children to develop their unique skills and interests.
3-Year-Old Class
This year, kids really work hard to refine the motor skills they developed as 2-year-olds. Your child’s world opens up in many new ways. At this age children improve coordination, learn more complex games, begin to interact more deeply with others, and become more curious. It is this natural sense of curiosity that we use to inspire them to learn and grow.
4 & 5-Year-Old Class
Getting children ready for the leap to Kindergarten, this program is designed to enhance a child’s cognitive, social and emotional development. This environment allows children to develop skills that form the foundation for reading, writing and mathematics.
Our programs provide a strong curriculum and dedicated teachers, who are trained and skilled to meet the specific needs of the age group they care for. Numerous staff have been here for more than 10 years, and some as long as 15 years. This continuity of staff is important to the child’s environment as he or she moves through the various classrooms and programs. The overall experience at TCATB Preschool promotes a love of school while nurturing social, emotional, physical, and cognitive development. We invite you to visit our school and see for yourself the exceptional learning that takes place.
A child’s play is his/her work. It is the one way they have of making sense of the world in which the child lives, and of developing the child’s skills - emotionally, socially, intellectually, and physically. Due to the unique nature and capabilities of each child, we cannot expect them to have all reached the same level at the same time. What we can strive for is to capture the learning interest and curiosity of each child, through the educational experiences we offer, and through providing an environment in which the child feels free to explore and learn without fear of failure.
As we are working towards developing all these skills in your child, we run a program around what is known as the “process-centered” approach; that is, “what is extremely important is the process by which the child discovers and learns.” If we can instill good ways of learning things now, it will certainly help them in their efforts at school and all throughout life.
